F.A.Q
What material choices are there?
The studio is set up for working with either Sterling Silver or Gold. All the above workshops are priced for Sterling Silver. If you would like to choose gold I will price for this dependant on the carat you would like to work with. The options are: 9ct Rose Gold, 9ct or 18ct White Gold and 9ct or 18ct Yellow Gold
What is Hallmarking?
Precious metals over a certain weight are legally required to be tested as a guarantee to the quality of the material. A hallmark (5 part stamp) is awarded to metal once it has passed the assay test. Only registered makers can apply for metal to be tested at a registered assay office. There are 3 Assay Office’s in England and we are fortunate enough to have one of these in Sheffield. Please ask me on the day or visit the Sheffield Assay Office website if you are interested to know more.
